Join us for an introduction to the fine art of Outdoor Bonsai. In this make & take workshop Knoxville Bonsai Society vice president, Noah Frere will demonstrate how to make a bonsai out of a nursery-grown dwarf Cypress tree. Participants will then create their own bonsai tree to take home. Training pot, tree, soil, wire and tools will be provided. Registration is limited to 18 participants.

Presenter: Noah Frere

“Although I am pursuing a graduate degree in Astrophysics (studying the relationship between asteroids and meteorites) at UTK, I spend much of my time watering the 60 plants around my house I have gathered (mostly collected from the ground) over the past three years, most of which are bonsai or pre-bonsai, and repotting and training them. What started as a curiosity has grown into a passion, and I may have to drop out of school to open a greenhouse. I am married to Jill, a dancer and yogini, and raise a 4-year-old girl, Santosha."
