This program will focus on seed propagation and  propagation through cuttings. We will begin with a lesson on what propagation is and how the process works. The workshop will include a demonstration of how to propagate using these methods along with participants trying out propagation for themselves. All materials will be provided. Participants will get to take home any plants they propagate.

In a world of global trade and changing climate there are more frequent new threats to plant health, and early detection is the key to successful management. Participating in this workshop will help you to recognize signs of these pests and diseases and to know how to react. Presentations from UT Gardens Interim Director, James Newburn, and Dr. Mihula Gireesh, UTIA Extension Specialist, will cover national, regional, and garden-specific efforts in plant health monitoring.
